Galerie - a love affair with France
Galerie is a family business and partnership which has evolved from our mutual love of French culture, art ,design and antiques. We have found inspiration in the French art of living, mixing old with new - kitch with fine and beautiful - to make homes and interiors which will endure and say something personal about the people who live in them.
We share the French approach to antiques, the tendency to repair and conserve rather than restore and the love of the authentic and imperfect surface reflecting generations of use and wear.
We have been buying in France for 15 years now, helping to furnish complete homes and single rooms with private customers, re-furbishing bedrooms with boutique hotels and interior designers, sourcing quirky fittings for shops - everything from "finding a French bed that will cope with rampant sex", to finding furnishings to make a large and intimidating drawing room a cozy place to snuggle up.
